Ukraine Returns Another 205 Soldiers from Russian Captivity

On Tuesday, May 6, the 64th prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia took place. According to preliminary reports, the swap followed a 205-for-205 format, making it one of the largest exchanges since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

The exchange was made possible through the involvement of international partners, including the United Arab Emirates, which acted as intermediaries in the negotiations.

Since the start of the full-scale war, a total of 4,757 Ukrainians — both military personnel and civilians — have been released from Russian captivity.

The previous major exchange occurred on April 19, ahead of Easter, when 277 Ukrainian soldiers were returned home.
