Russia's war in Ukraine is not just a fight for territory. It's a fight for humanity itself. When civilians become targets, when children are abducted to shield soldiers, and the elderly are shot for stepping outside — this is more than war. This is a crime against humanity.
September 2025. Eastern Ukraine trembles under a new wave of violence. While battles rage in Kupiansk, Myrove, and Shandryholove, another, darker truth emerges — open terror against civilians by Russian occupying forces.
According to testimony from evacuees, Ukrainian soldiers, and law enforcement, the invaders are waging war not only against the Ukrainian military but also against ordinary people. And this is no longer chaos — it is deliberate action with clear signs of war crimes.
In the village of Myrove (Kharkiv region), locals say Russian troops began appearing in late August. Some dressed in civilian clothes, looted empty homes, and occupied others. But the worst part — they began executing civilians in the streets.
Seven people, men and women aged between 30 and 60, were killed just for stepping outside. Occupiers forbade burials — one victim lay on the road for three weeks, covered with a rug.
These were not casualties of crossfire. These were deliberate killings. Occupiers warned: “Step outside — and you'll be shot.” And they kept their word.
In Kupiansk, the situation is no better. A 74-year-old man riding a bicycle was shot by Russian soldiers. He managed to hide in reeds and later had a Kalashnikov bullet removed from his leg.
Locals recall heavy shelling of residential neighborhoods. One survivor lost two acquaintances — a woman was killed in the yard, a man near a summer kitchen. Both had their legs blown off.
>Survivors walked 30 kilometers to safety, barefoot, with torn skin, without water or transport. “Everything is smashed,” they say. The city is in ruins — lives reduced to rubble.
The most horrific case comes from Shandryholove in Donetsk region. Russian forces, under the command of someone with the call sign "Bali", stormed a civilian home, executed a family, and abducted a minor girl.
Radio intercepts confirm the order: “Kill everyone indiscriminately.” The girl is now used as a human shield for assault groups — so Ukrainian troops can’t return fire.
This is not just terror. This is a gross violation of international law, including the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
